Whether you are a high school student, who wants to be better at math, or a professional, who is planning his/ her career, the basics of achieving success are always the same and you will get the best results, if you focus on what is really important. The sooner you start applying the rules, which lead to success, the greater are your chances of achieving what you have planned.
Divide your goals into smaller sub-goals
Include in your plan not only the ultimate goal you want to achieve, but also the way, which leads to the final goal. Smaller sub-goals will be your milestones and they will help you evaluate your achievements and give you a sense of accomplishment, so important for self-motivation. Celebrate your small successes and award yourself for every achieved sub-goal.
Learn how to plan ahead
Keeping a daily schedule and planning ahead are the two things, which will help you better organize your work. However, the most important thing is to make realistic plans and allow yourself to be flexible. For example, do not make plans to cover every topic in your Singapore Math book within a month, if you already know that it will probably take more time. Impossible to fulfill plans will only make you feel frustrated that you can’t accomplish what you have planned, so be honest with yourself and plan realistically. At the same time, try to be flexible to be able to shift activities, when it is necessary.
Avoid distractions
When you are working towards your goals, avoid all things, which are not important and which can distract you and consume too much of your time. Instead of trying to do two things at a time, plan your activities in such a way, which leaves you enough free time to do all these things, which are fun, but distracting.
